More than 100 women with a history of migration from all over Bavaria founded the Migrant Women's Network Bavaria on 22 June 2013 in the DGB House in Munich. This makes the network the first nationwide association of female migrants at state level.

Speakers 
In their welcome addresses, Mitra Sharifi Neystanak, co-initiator of the network and President of AGABY, and Hildegund Rüger, President of the Bavarian Women's Council, stressed the importance of self-representation for migrant women. In addition to host Christiane Berger, vice-chairwoman of the DGB Bayern, other speakers included representatives from the Bavarian state parliament, Christa Stewens (CSU), Isabell Zacharias (SPD), Eva Gottstein (Independent Voters), Margarete Bause (Bündnis 90/Die Grünen) and Brigitte Meyer (FDP).
